End of Leave Year Information for Retirees

This year is an unusual one in that the leave year for most Federal employees ends on 31 December 2011.  It is extremely important that CSRS and CSRS Offset employees who plan to retire from 01-03 January 2012, schedule their "use or lose" annual leave to avoid forfeiture.  If the "use or lose" annual leave is not used prior to 31 Decembver 2011, then annual leave will be forfeited and not included in the employee's lump sum payment for annual leave.
